Michigan has been my home all my life and I am still enjoying the beauty of this state.

My education started with a BS degree from Eastern Michigan University and a job at Parke Davis Laboratories in Ann Arbor. I worked with many veterinarians and knew at that time that animal medicine would be my life’s passion. I graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and my first job was with a progressive practice in Utica Michigan. In June of 1972, I started Oakland Animal Hospital in Rochester Michigan that has grown to a 7 veterinarian small animal general practice. With an interest in veterinary ophthalmology I focused my efforts on a practice devoted to preserving vision in pets. Veterinary Vision of Rochester was once a dream but now a reality.

Diane my wife and partner has been a guiding force in achieving all my goals. She is also the mother of our two children, Matt and Mike, and the grand mother to our three grand children Trey, Cole and Caden. Life is good when everyone is healthy!

I am a strong advocate of community service and involvement. I have been an active Rochester Rotarian for 32 years. This opportunity has also allowed me to be a co-founder of World Blindness Outreach, Inc., which has helped to alleviate human blindness in poor communities throughout the world. In addition I have co-chaired committees for Crittenton Hospital, Meadowbrook Festival, Leader Dog School for the Blind and the National Prayer Breakfast.

Life is good when one stays busy!

I love to work but am learning that play is ever important. I enjoy my three grandchildren and their varied activities. Gardening and outdoor activities are a must. Traveling is something that Diane and I love. Recently I have learned that fly-fishing, especially with your son, is a great joy!

Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, I graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. – Zoology in 2002 and again as a DVM in 2007 from the College of Veterinary Medicine. I started my veterinary career as intern at Kendall Road Equine Hospital in Elgin, IL. During the internship and my education at MSU I developed a passion for ophthalmology and found the perfect place to practice at Veterinary Vision of Rochester. Outside of work I enjoy traveling and visiting family and friends my husband Rob and our pets Mello, Gemelli and Petey.

staff_jen.jpgI am a Michigan State University graduate with a BS in Animal Science I also earned my Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Macomb Community College. I am a member of NAVTA (National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America) and VOTS (Veterinary Ophthalmic Technician Society). I have worked in the veterinary field for the past 8 years and found veterinary ophthalmology in 2004. Ophthalmology has been a very rewarding opportunity to grow as a veterinary technician. I enjoy being outside whether I am fishing, camping or just taking Jackson and Ivan (my dogs) out for some fresh air.

Hi my name is Tina and I have been a veterinary technician for about 8 years. My recent move to ophthalmology has been very rewarding and I feel like I learn something new everyday. I enjoy spending time outdoors horseback riding, gardening or taking care of the many animals my husband and I have acquired over the years.

staff_dawn.jpgHi, my name is Dawn. I’ve been with Oakland Animal Hospital since 1997. I was a client and thought it would be a great place to work. I was right! I have been interested in ophthalmology ever since my Cairn Terrier had cataract surgery at the age of three. The move to Veterinary Vision was the perfect transition for me. I am married with two grown daughters. Our two “kids” at home are now our rescues, Hunter the Cairn Terrier and Haddie our Bichon Frise.
